Class 4

Welcome to our Class 4 page!

Young Voices

Last Wednesday, Class 4 had a fantastic time participating in the Young Voices concert in Birmingham. We joined approximately 6,000 other children to perform the songs we had been learning and rehearsing since September. It was an incredibly exciting atmosphere and we loved sharing our singing and dancing with our friends and family. We especially enjoyed the Queen Medley and Frightfest!

Author Visit

Wow! What a week it has been in Class 4. Last Thursday, we were lucky enough to welcome author Lou Treleaven into our class. Lou has written such books as ‘Letter to Pluto’ and ‘Turns Out I’m an Alien’.  In honour of the occasion, we all dressed up as aliens – even the teachers! Lou read to us from ‘Turns Out I’m an Alien’ which we all enjoyed very much. Most of us had never heard an author read their own work before and we all agreed that it really brought the characters and settings to life. Afterwards, we had the opportunity to ask Lou questions about her books and life as a writer. It was fascinating to hear that Lou had written many stories before she managed to get a publisher. We were all impressed by her determination and it was a good reminder that we need to work hard and be persistent in order to achieve our dreams!

Afterwards, we worked in teams to make aliens to match a description written by Mrs Rutter. We all really enjoyed being creative!
