An Introduction for Parents

An Introduction for Parents

At Yardley Hastings, we work hard to communicate well with our parent community. To assist you with information about our school we have created a number of pages which will give advice concerning many aspects of school life. In particular, from experience we know that parents like to know about why you might consider Yardley as the school of choice of your child. Once your child is attending our school you may then need to know about how we organise meals, including free school meals, how our school day is organised, what happens if we need to close the school in an emergency, and what clubs, both before and after school, we provide for your child.

Please use the menu choices to find these pages.

From time to time, we know that there may be particular forms that you need to complete in order to keep us up to date with your preferences for your child's education and support. Wherever possible we try to provide these forms for you to download from this website. You will find these forms from the dropdown menu above.

If there is any aspect of school life that you need further help with please do not hesitate to contact the school for advice and guidance.

School Uniform

We ask that children wear school uniform, including those children in Nursery. Logoed items can be purchased from My Clothing.  This is an online provider of school wear.  Please contact them on:

Website: www.myclothing.com

Phone: 08000699949

Email: support@myclothing.com

We ask parents to equip their children with the necessary uniform and school equipment, so that they are able to participate fully in all school activities. If a parent is in financial difficulties, and this results in a child not having the correct uniform or not having adequate equipment, our school will do all it can to support the parent. We ask parents not to send their child to school with ‘extreme’ hairstyles or the sort of appearance that is likely to cause them to draw attention to themselves. We ask parents to discuss any issues relating to their child’s appearance if this is influenced by religious belief.

On grounds of health and safety we do not allow children to wear jewellery in our school. The exception to this rule is earring studs in pierced ears. We ask that children either remove these for PE and games or for them to cover them the earrings with a plaster.
