A busy term 1!
Class 4 have enjoyed a busy Autumn Term 1. Our English work, based on ‘Arthur and the Golden Rope’ has inspired us to write poetry and adventure stories. We especially enjoyed exploring the characters through some drama work.
In our topic lessons, we have explored Invaders and Settlers, learning about Anglo-Saxon settlement and life in Britain at this time.
We have made a flying start to our Maths and enjoyed a TTRS battle – Year 5 versus Year 6!
National Poetry Day saw us writing some impressive kennings based on our topic work and this year’s theme, ‘Refuge’.
We also enjoyed a visit from Coram Life Education and a workshop in their ‘LifeSpace’ classroom entitled ‘Friends’. During the session, we discussed looking after our mental health, as well as physical health – and the connection between the two – using the Wellbeing Wheel. We also considered how to ensure our online behaviour is healthy and balanced.
We are excited to get stuck into term 2!
