Welcome to our Outstanding Nursery Year at Yardley Hastings Primary School!
The Nursery stage is an integral part of our school, providing exceptional care for 3 to 4 year olds. Working and playing alongside our Reception Year children, the children benefit immensely both socially and academically. Our nursery year provides an excellent transition to the first year of school.
As a team of qualified and experienced Early Years practitioners, we pride ourselves on providing a caring and nurturing environment, where all children thrive. A bright, well equipped, stimulating setting includes a dedicated outside area, which is accessed by children whatever the season and weather!
We strive to ensure that all children feel safe, secure and happy whilst with us. We will work closely with all parents and parents and carers to ensure the children maximize their time with us. We offer regular meetings with parents and the opportunity to talk with staff at drop off and pick up times.
Making learning as fun as possible is our aim; providing exciting and engaging activities, which encourage exploration and creativity. We start our day with daily phonics sessions and provide plenty of opportunity for the learning of number and counting. We benefit from having an amazing dedicated music teacher that works with us weekly.
We offer a flexible choice of morning, lunch and afternoon sessions. We can offer Nursery places from the term after your child's third birthday but places are limited, so if you would like to join us please get in touch. Children are eligible for grant funding from the term after their third birthday and further information is available from the School Office. You can find out what help towards childcare costs you are entitled to on the Government website.
We currently charge £5.00 per curriculum hour and £4.00 for childcare over the lunchtime period.
