As part of our topic work this term, we have been studying Earth’s biomes. Biomes are areas of our planet with similar climates, landscapes, animals and plants. There are five main biomes on our planet: aquatic, grassland, forest, desert, and tundra. Some of these biomes can be further divided into more specific categories, such as freshwater, marine, savanna, tropical rainforest, temperate rainforest and taiga forest.
To complement our learning in class, we were set a homework challenge of creating our own biome in a box and then presenting it to the rest of the class. We were all very creative and produced some really super biomes! We all learned a lot and had fun too!
