Class 1

Welcome to our Class 1 page!

Bug Hotels!

As we are having lovely weather recently we decided to take full advantage! We took shade underneath our large trees on the field and the children were put into small groups and asked to create their own ‘Bug Hotels’. They were asked to work as part of a team and listen to each other’s ideas. All the children worked really hard and were very creative! They created hammocks, beds using feathers so they were comfy, a soil swimming pool, covers to keep the bugs dry when it rains and much more! We even had a few visitors! Take a look :)

The Lighthouse Keeper’s Lunch

We have begun our new Topic this term. The children have been very busy at home creating and researching lighthouses, thinking about how to stay safe when visiting the seaside and researching RNLI. We have also been exploring the story of ‘The Lighthouse Keeper’s Lunch’, by hot seating the characters, writing speech bubbles and discussing what the children like and dislike about the story.

We have then moved onto researching Grace Darling and the children have begun making a fact file.
