World Book Day in Class 4

Wow – what an exciting World Book Day we had yesterday! The children came dressed in some extremely creative and thoughtful costumes. The staff thoroughly enjoyed spending the day teaching Sherlock Holmes, Hercule Poirot, Robin Hood, Frida Kahlo, Einstein, Mrs Twit, Alice in Wonderland and Gangster Granny among many others!

We had a brilliant day celebrating reading, in particular the Harry Potter books. In the morning we took inspiration from JK Rowling to create our own descriptions of a magical creature. We also followed instructions and used our maths skills to create our own frothing potions (see pictures below). In the afternoon, we spent time reading with our buddies – we all really enjoyed sharing our love of books with the younger children. Another highlight was when we welcomed parents and carers into our classroom. Thank you to everybody who was able to make it!
