Class 4 is our oldest class and plays a vital role in preparing pupils for the final stage of their primary school journey and the transition to secondary education. In Class 4, we place a strong emphasis on high expectations, personal responsibility and independence, while continuing to nurture confidence, curiosity and a love of learning.
Our approach balances academic challenge with care and support. Pupils are encouraged to take ownership of their learning, develop effective study habits and apply their skills across the curriculum. We promote resilience, problem-solving and critical thinking, helping children to rise to challenges and feel proud of their achievements.
As role models within the school, Class 4 pupils are given opportunities to develop leadership, teamwork and responsibility. We support them to grow socially and emotionally, ensuring they are well prepared for the increased expectations, routines and independence of secondary school.
Above all, Class 4 is a positive, inclusive and encouraging environment where pupils feel safe to take risks, ask questions and strive to be the best version of themselves as they approach the end of their primary education.
