Our Spectacular School Play

Last night we had the final triumphant performance of our school play, The Button Box. Our annual summer play is something really special at YHPS and we think that the shows this year were particularly spectacular! The whole school acted their socks off and sang their hearts out. We are very proud of every single child and the superb effort they put in over the three performances.  However, a special mention must go to Class 4 who took the main parts this year. We had fantastically dramatic children and grandparents, a dazzling Romeo and Juliet, chairmen with splendid comic timing, truly moving First World War sweethearts, an amazing silk trader, wonderful dancing crows, brilliant pioneers and talented pop stars!

It was a really super end to Year 6s time with us. We will miss them all and wish them every success at their new secondary schools.

Cricket Tournament at Wollaston Cricket Club

Yesterday, we were delighted to have the opportunity to take part in an all-day cricket tournament. We joined teams from other primary schools at Wollaston Cricket Ground.

It was lovely to have a whole day outside of the classroom in the sunshine. It was a very hot day but we were all careful to remain hydrated, keep our sun cream topped up and wear our hats! Yardley had enough children to make up 3 teams and everyone played well, cheered each other on and worked as a team. Well done Yardley!

We had a fantastic time. One of our Year 5 children said, “I really enjoyed the whole day! I liked playing lots of games. The Young Leaders from Wollaston School who refereed were very nice and helped us.” While a Year 6 child enthused, “It was a really fun day. I liked how supportive we were of each other.”
