Class 2 is a vital stage in children’s early school journey, where we build strong foundations for learning while nurturing confidence, curiosity and independence. In Class 2, we support pupils as they move from the play-based learning of the Early Years into more structured learning, helping them to develop positive attitudes and routines.
Our approach focuses on developing core skills in reading, writing and mathematics through engaging, practical and meaningful learning experiences. Children are encouraged to become independent learners by making choices, organising their resources and taking pride in their work, all within a supportive and caring environment.
We place a strong emphasis on social development, communication and emotional well-being. Pupils learn to work cooperatively, follow routines and show kindness and respect to others. Clear expectations and consistent support help children to feel safe, confident and ready to learn.
Class 2 is a happy, inclusive and nurturing environment where children are supported to develop the skills, confidence and enthusiasm needed for the next stage of their primary education.
