September Update

Headteacher’s Blog – September Update

It has been wonderful to welcome everyone back to school and to see our classrooms buzzing with excitement for the year ahead. Our new pupils have settled in brilliantly, and it’s been lovely to see so many smiling faces each morning.

The first couple of weeks have been all about getting back into routines, building relationships, and setting the tone for a year of curiosity, kindness, and high expectations. I have been impressed by the enthusiasm of our children and the way they are already showing our school values in action. I have been spending lots of my time in the classrooms, getting to know the children and working hard to learn everyone's names!

We have had our very first 'Rocksteady' assembly, and it was great to see the children so fired up and excited about the possibility of joining their very own Rock Band! Years 3/4 are also looking forward to their 'Cavewoman Day' which links to their topic learning.

Over the next few weeks, we will be holding our first curriculum events for parents and carers so that you can find out more about what your child will be learning this year.

Thank you for your continued support as we start this exciting new chapter together. Here’s to a fantastic year ahead!

Welcome Back!

I hope you and your families have enjoyed a restful and happy summer break. I’m delighted to be joining you as the new Headteacher of Yardley Hastings Primary School, and I feel incredibly proud and privileged to be part of such a special school community.

From the moment I first visited, I was struck by the warm, welcoming atmosphere and the clear sense of pride pupils and staff take in their school. Yardley Hastings is a place where children are known as individuals, cared for deeply, and encouraged to flourish, and I am excited to lead the school forward with this strong foundation.

Over the coming weeks and months, I look forward to getting to know our children, families, and staff. I believe wholeheartedly in working in partnership with parents and carers, so that we can build a positive and open relationship to support every child’s learning and wellbeing.

My priorities as Headteacher are simple: to ensure your children feel safe, happy and inspired every day; to maintain high expectations for behaviour and achievement; and to deliver a rich and exciting curriculum that reflects our values and prepares children for the wider world.

Here’s to a successful and joyful year ahead. Thank you for the warm welcome I’ve already received.
