Antarctica Flags

I am sure your children will have told you that just before term break they took part in a competition to design a flag for Antarctica.

This followed on from a visit last year, by Maddie Brasier a scientist from UK Polar Network, to Class 2 as part of their Polar Explorer Topic. We were then invited to design flags to send down to the Antarctic to be display in the science research centre.

We have just heard this morning that our flags are on their way being taken by Christine Dow a Scientist from NASA who is joining the scientist for studies in the Jang Bogo Research Station until March.

If you would be interested in looking with your child at the work of the Network, you may like to look at:

Fascinating, but I couldn't imagine being somewhere so cold for such a long time!!!!
