Have a lovely summer break!

We have finally made it to the end of term after an extremely busy and successful year!

As well as holding another very successful Sports Day, the last few days of term were very much characterised by ‘performance’. This started with a ‘teatime’ concert from the Ashby Orchestra to parents, friends and relatives having played to the whole school earlier in the day. The children have only been playing together for just under 2 years and go from strength to strength under the amazing guidance and tuition of Pam Dyson. I cannot thank her enough for the time and effort she puts into this. The children celebrated the end of the year with well-deserved tea and cake!

Our end of year performance of ‘The Button Box’ involving was amazing and continued to reach the amazingly high standards or a ‘Yardley Summer Performance’. Many of our teaching team were new to the ‘performance experience’ this year but the incredibly high expectations didn’t drop and I am extremely grateful to the whole staff team who all got involved with all aspects whether it be, choreographing dances, fetching the stag, and making costumes or props. We would not be able to manage without parental support either. Thank you to all parents who helped and a very special thank you to Becky Henderson who, as always, coordinated the costume making admirably!
Sadly, we have had to say goodbye to our Year Six. They have been a lovely group of children and, whilst they are all ready to move on, we are sorry to lose them. Their final assembly was very moving and a fitting tribute to all their many strengths and talents. Keep in touch, all of you; I look forward to hearing about your continued success!

I hope you all have a lovely summer break and that the warm weather continues. I look forward to seeing you all refreshed and ready for another exciting year on Wednesday 4 September.

PS: Don’t forget to ‘save the date’ of 11th September for our new curriculum launch, 7pm at Yardley!
